NIGERIAN FOOTBALLER DIES IN AZERBAIJAN

Umanyika slumped during his first training session since he returned to the club –

He fell and efforts to revive him proved abortive –

The young Nigerian made 20 appearances for Zagatala PFK A young Nigerian footballer Michael Umanyika who plies his trade with Azerbaijani first division club, Zagatala PFK, is dead.


 Umanyika gave up the ghost after he suddenly stopped and fell during a training session with the club on Monday, August 15, allnigeriasoccer.com reports.

 It was disclosed that player just returned to his base after a vacation from Nigeria, but Zagatala was said to have slumped during his first training with the club after he returned. He made 20 appearances since joining the club.

 On May 7, 2016, tragic also struck the football world when Brazilian Bernardo Ribeiro collapsed on the field after suffering a heart attack during a match in his native country for an amateur side.

 Ribero who has had spells in Australia, Albania, Italy, and Finland was playing in Minas Gerias state when the incident occurred.

 The Friburgense player was rushed to the hospital but could not be brought back to life by the medical staff.
